EJ Bowden, also known as Edie, is a gothic horror author from the United Kingdom.

She grew up in London and Hertfordshire, went to university in Bristol and Bath, but never quite got round to leaving the West Country. She now lives in Bristol with her husband, stepson, daughter and two dogs.

By day she works in a creative role in financial services, which she maintains counts as research for her novels.

Her debut novel, Beyond the Fracture, will be published on 31st October 2026: a slow-burn gothic romance set in a city built beside a wound that never closed, about inherited duty, buried history, and falling for the person you were made to hate.

Two further novels, The Bone Harrower and How to Become Someone Else, are due in 2027.

When Edie isn’t writing, she’s with her family, sweating through a barre class, walking the dogs or having dinner with her friends.
